Whay on earth did he react like this?

i told my close male friend that i was pregnant for my ex boyfriend,his first reaction was to slump into an armchair and say 'what about me?where does this leave me now?'.he was caring and sympathetic once he got over the shock,he text ed me later on to ask was i ok and that he was thinking of me.he popped down to my house today to ask how i got on at the doctor,was everything ok,when is my hospital appointment etc,truth be known he is taking a better interest in this baby that the father!during the summer me and this guy were a bit flirty flirty,but never did anything about it.is it possible that he still likes me?
