Why does Obama keep feeling the need to apologize for America? Does he hate America that much?

I don't need him to apologize for me, I'm not racist and when I travel to Europe or Asia, I always learn of their customs and adhere to them when I'm there. If I want to apologize for anything, I can do so myself and I am proud to be American. If that offends you, then it's not okay to be proud to be a citizen of the country you reside in? If a Frenchman said he was proud to be French, I would be happy for him and not offended whatsoever.
